During this time, he received additional fellowship experience in cranial oncology as a senior registrar at Wellington Regional Hospital in New Zealand. He has a particular interest in the surgical treatment of brain tumors with a research interest in fluorescent imaging and patient-specific tumor models. He has co-authored numerous research articles and book chapters in the medical and scientific literature including top level journals and textbooks such as Cell, Cell Stem Cell, and Abeloff’s Clinical Oncology. Outside of work, Dr. Salinas enjoys playing and watching sports of all kinds, cooking/experimenting in the kitchen and grill, and reading to his young daughter.
