Overview
Susan Ward, M.D., FACP, FACR, has more than 30 years of experience in the specialty of rheumatolog, with particular expertise in caring for patients with rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and other autoimmune diseases. After graduating from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia in 1985, Dr. Ward completed her residency i internal medicine at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, and post-doctoral fellowship training in rheumatology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Prior to joining AtlantiCare, Dr. Ward was in private practice for 15 years and then served on the medical staff of the Mount Nittany Physician Group in State College, Pennsylvania for approximately three years. Earlier in her career, Dr. Ward was on staff at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital for 11 years and was involved in teaching medical students and clinical research of treatment advances for autoimmune diseases and osteoporosis. She is board certified in rheumatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is also a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a fellow of the American College of Rheumatology.
