Overview

Dr. James Waldron grew up in San Antonio, TX. He graduated from Rice University in 1995 before pursing his medical degree at the University of Texas, Southwestern School of Medicine where he graduated first in his class. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He then moved to northern California where he completed his training in Neurological Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco. After his residency he completed advanced fellowship training in Endovascular Neurosurgery/Interventional Neuroradiology at Stanford University Medical Center. Dr. Waldron focuses on the treatment of brain aneurysms and cerebrovascular disease utilizing both endovascular and open surgical techniques. His clinical interests include neuro-oncology, skull base surgery, radiosurgery, and treatment of disorders of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. Dr. Waldron remains committed to the advancement of neuroscience research. He has previously pursued National Institutes of Health funded research work on brain tumors and completed a post-doctoral research fellowship in the laboratory of Andrew Parsa, M.D., Ph.D. at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr Waldron currently see patients at our NeuroTexas locations in South Austin, Cedar Park and Round Rock.
