Dr. Samuel Jones is a cardiologist specializing in cardiology and electrophysiology at The Chattanooga Heart Institute. He retired as a Colonel from the United States Air Force and came to Chattanooga from San Antonio Military Medical Center.Dr. Jones earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and an undergraduate degree from the United State Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas and a fellowship in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston while earning a master’s degree in public health from the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Jones had a distinguished military career having served as a Cardiology Consultant and Chief Consultant of Internal Medicine Services to the Air Force Surgeon General. He served as a flight surgeon while based at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida and in Saudi Arabia.|Fascinated by science and fueled by a desire to help relieve suffering, Dr.Jones found cardiology and electrophysiology to be the most intriguing subjects. Cardiology will continue to have incredible technological advances. When working with patients, Dr. Jones stresses each encounter needs to be ethical in terms of acting in the best interest of the patient, treating all patients fairly, and respecting their own right to make their decisions.Outside of work, Dr. Jones enjoys playing golf with his sons, or doing anything with his family.
