Overview
Dr. Vasanth Vedantham is a cardiac electrophysiologist who cares for patients with heart rhythm disorders. His expertise encompasses catheter ablation (a minimally invasive technique in which heart tissue responsible for abnormal electrical signals is destroyed), implantation of cardiac devices (such as pacemakers and defibrillators) and medications that control arrhythmias. Vedantham is also an expert in diagnosing and managing cardiac sarcoidosis and other rare disorders that can cause arrhythmias; he often collaborates with UCSF specialists outside of cardiology to care for patients with these complex conditions. Another focus of his practice, as part of the UCSF Cardiovascular Genetics Program, is the diagnosis and treatment of patients with inherited arrhythmia syndromes and inherited heart muscle disorders. Vedantham directs a laboratory focused on understanding the molecular, cellular and genetic mechanisms that regulate heart rhythm. The long-term goal of this research is to make scientific advances that lead to better ways of treating and preventing arrhythmias. Vedantham earned his medical degree and doctorate at Harvard Medical School. He completed an internal medicine residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital, followed by fellowships in cardiovascular medicine and cardiac electrophysiology at UCSF.
Dr. Vedantham is highly rated in 19 conditions, according to our data. His clinical expertise encompasses Atrioventricular Nodal Reentrant Tachycardia (AVNRT), Arrhythmias, Sarcoidosis, Cardiac Ablation, and Pacemaker Implantation.
Dr. Vedantham is board certified in American Board Of IM/Clinical Cardiac Electrophys, Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. He is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 65 peer reviewed articles and participating in 1 clinical trial. Dr. Vedantham is currently accepting new patients.

Dr. Henry H. Hsia is a cardiologist and electrophysiologist in the Cardiac Electrophysiology and Arrhythmia Service. He performs catheter ablation to treat complex arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats, particularly ventricular tachycardia. In his research, Hsia explores new mapping techniques for identifying unstable, life-threatening heart rhythms. Hsia earned a medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine residency at Michigan Medicine, the medical system of the University of Michigan, followed by a cardiology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He completed training in cardiac electrophysiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Before joining UCSF, Hsia worked at the University of Pennsylvania, Temple University and Stanford University. Hsia is an avid scuba diver and a certified diving medical officer. Dr. Hsia is highly rated in 17 conditions, according to our data. His clinical expertise encompasses Arrhythmias, Ventricular Tachycardia, Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardia (PSVT), Cardiac Ablation, and Pacemaker Implantation. Dr. Hsia is board certified in American Board Of Internal Medicine, Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and American Board Of Internal Medicine, Internal Medicine. Dr. Hsia is currently accepting new patients.
