Overview
Early in my career, I started delivering babies and working in pediatrics. As a family practice doctor, I enjoy working with many types of people and areas of medicine, and I especially like working with the elderly. Throughout the years, I have come to see that people are on a journey, going through various stages, learning to cope with different stressors, and I want to help them progress in a healthy way. Patients have many transitions in life, and I want to be there with them wherever they are on their journey. Some of my specialty areas include endocrinology, diabetes, mental health, chronic ulcers and wound care. Patients say one thing they appreciate about me is how I take time to listen to their concerns and find out who they are as people, understanding their obstacles and goals in life. I use communication and personalized goal-setting to help my patients overcome their problems. I also take a team approach, working with nurses, specialists and others to provide the best possible care. In my free time, I enjoy being with my family. I have four kids, and I have been involved in formal activities such as Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. I play the violin, and I support my kids' musical activities as well. We also like hiking and being out in nature. I am a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP).
