Dr. James W. Findling

Dr. Ioachimescu is recognized as an international expert in pituitary disorders, including rare diseases such as acromegaly and Cushing’s disease. After co-founding and directing the Emory Pituitary Center in Atlanta for 16 years, Dr. Ioachimescu joined the faculty at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2023 with the goal of developing a successful academic multidisciplinary tertiary referral center at Froedtert.Due to her longstanding contribution to clinical care and research, she participated to international consensus guidelines on prolactinoma, Cushing’s disease, acromegaly and genetics of pituitary adenomas. She authored more than 100 publications and presented at national and international meetings such as American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE), Endocrine Society and North American Skull Base Society. She is passionate about clinical research and has an active investigator-initiated portfolio dedicated to personalized treatment of patients with pituitary tumors. She also has a long track record of involvement in multicentric clinical trials that unveiled novel therapies for Cushing’s disease and acromegaly. Dr. Ioachimescu is passionate about medical education, and is currently the Education Oversight Committee chair of AACE, a writer for the Endocrine Self-Assessment Program and an associate editor of Pituitary and Endocrine Reviews journals.Dr. Ioachimescu loves outdoor activities such as hiking and skiing. Dr. Shaker is one of six physicians joining the Medical College’s full-time faculty who was previously a member of Midwest Endocrinology Associates, the only private practice in Wisconsin to ever be recognized in the nation’s top 50 endocrinology departments by U.S. News & World Report.He comes to the Medical College from Idaho Endocrinology and Boise State University, where he served as a staff endocrinologist and adjunct professor of biology since 2007. Prior to that appointment, he was at the Endocrine and Diabetes Center of St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee for 20 years and was chairman of the section of endocrinology and metabolism at St. Luke’s from 1999 to 2007.Dr. Shaker was a clinical professor of medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine for four years, and is a co-founder of the Wisconsin Bone Club, an annual two-day meeting that features speakers and attendees in the fields of endocrinology and rheumatology in addition to other specialists interested in bone and calcium disorders.He has authored or co-authored over 40 journal articles and over 35 scientific abstracts. His research interests include high or low blood calcium and parathyroid disorders, osteoporosis associated with intestinal disease or surgery, and calcium and bone disorders.Dr. Shaker was a member of the editorial boards of Endocrine Practice and the Journal of Clinical Densitometry. He is on the board-of-directors of the Paget Foundation for Paget’s Disease of Bone and Related Disorders. Dr. Shaker is highly rated in 19 conditions, according to our data. Dr. Fareau is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Clinical Nutrition. He graduated with Honors from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire. He completed a Clinical and Research Fellowship in Endocrinology at the Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center joint program, where his educational interests included diagnostic and treatment strategies of endocrine cancers.
