I’m a hematologist/oncologist and see patients with cancer and all types of blood disorders. The field of hematology/oncology is constantly changing, and through rapid advances in our understanding of cancer genomics and drug delivery we are able to offer many more treatment options to our patients than ever before. Helping patients understand what can and can’t be done is therefore very important. That is one reason why I really take the time to get to know my patients. I work with them to explore all options of treatment, including clinical trials, and then help them choose a treatment option that is aligned with their values and goals of care.
