At the Medical University of South Carolina, he served as co-director of the cardiac catheterization labs and director of the heart transplant program. While there, Dr. Ringewald contributed to several U.S. FDA clinical trials testing new devices and new medications in the catheterization lab. He has performed over 6,000 cardiac catheterizations and is a national leader in the field. Dr. Ringewald is a consultant for several medical industry vendors and teaches other physicians to perform the procedures he helped pioneer.
