Dr. Mohsen Arani

After Mohsen Shahpouri Arani, MD, FACP, graduated Summa Cum Laude at the top of his class with his medical degree from the University of Debrecen’s Faculty of Medicine in Debrecen, Hungary, he moved to Atlantic City, New Jersey, where he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center. He went on to complete a geriatrics fellowship with the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, which is now Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, in Piscataway Township. Then he completed training in hematology and medical oncology with a fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology, Dr. Arani has been practicing medicine in the United States since 1998. He specializes in diagnosing and treating patients with blood-related disorders, malignancies and cancers. He cares for conditions ranging from common to very rare and complex. As a result, Dr. Arani may provide care as part of a multidisciplinary team, working in conjunction with other specialists to ensure quality care. In addition, he specializes in providing comprehensive medical care to elderly and aging patients. As patients age, they may experience increased susceptibility to illness and injury and can create complicated diagnostic and treatment processes. Dr. Arani is trained to diagnose, treat and manage these and related medical situations in seniors. Dr. Arani is a Fellow of the American College of Physician (ACP) and is a member of the American Medical Associate (AMA), the American Society of Hematology (ASH) and the American Society of Oncology (ACSO). Throughout his career, Dr. Arani has been honored with numerous recognitions and awards. At Baylor College of Medicine, he served as chief fellow for the Hematology and Oncology Fellowship Program for two consecutive years, and in 2009, he won the Center for Cell and Gene Therapy’s Bone Marrow Transplant Best Fellow Presentation Award. In 2006, he named Citizen of the Year by the Gettysburg Chamber of Commerce in South Dakota. During his residency, Dr. Arani received the Scholastic Achievement Award for outstanding scores on the National Internal Medicine In-Training Examinations, as well as the Resident of the Year Award for outstanding performance, leadership and initiative. He also was honored with the James F. Gleason, MD, Resident Teacher Award for contributing the most to the overall teaching of fellow residents. During his education in Hungary, Dr. Arani received the Hungarian Academy of Science’s Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship Scholarship Award. Dr. Arani cares for patients living in Cleveland, Conroe, Crosby, Cypress, Dodge, Houston, Huffman, Hufsmith, Humble, Huntsville, Magnolia, New Caney, New Waverly, North Houston, Pinehurst, Porter, Shepherd, Spring and Tomball. Originally from Hungary, Dr. Arani speaks Hungarian and Farsi.
