Overview

I am a board-certified hematologist-oncologist and a faculty member at the University of Minnesota Department of Hematology, Oncology and Transplantation. After graduating from St. Olaf College, I received my medical degree and master's in public health from the University of Minnesota. I completed my internal medicine training at Hennepin County Medical Center and a hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of Minnesota. In addition to medical school, I completed training in clinical cancer research. During my medical training I developed unique relationships with people who had cancer, which led to me to choose my field. I continue to enjoy these relationships as a practicing oncologist. I also enjoy the intellectual challenge of working with patients who have blood and clotting disorders. I have a strong interest in clinical trials and have taken local and national leadership roles to make sure cutting-edge research trials are broadly available in patients' own communities.
