Dr. James C. Wurzer

James C. Wurzer, MD, PhD, is medical director of Radiation Oncology at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center (ARMC). After graduating summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, he earned both his medical degree and his doctorate in pharmacology through a National Institutes of Health-sponsored program at the Fels Institute for Cancer Research and Molecular Biology at the School of Medicine, Temple University. He served as chief resident in radiation oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia and completed an American Society for Therapeutic and Radiology Oncology Fellowship in radiation oncology, also at Fox Chase. Dr. Wurzer has extensive experience in all radiation treatment modalities, including intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), stereotactic radiation therapy and brachytherapy. Dr. Wurzer is specially trained in CyberKnife® robotic radiosurgery. Certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology, he has published in medical journals including Cancer; Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics; Carcinogenesis; Journal of Neuroscience Research and Nucleic Acids Research. He has presented his research nationally and internationally. Dr. Wurzer serves as a liaison to the American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer. He is a member of the New Jersey Medical Society, the American Cancer Society, the American College of Radiology, the American Society for Therapeutic Radiation, the American College of Radiation Oncology and the American Medical Association.
