I’m married with three children. I decided on a career in medicine because really enjoy making people feel better. One of my proudest moments has been becoming a parent, and that has given me a different perspective on what our patients and their families go through. I’m passionate about doing everything I can to help kids grow into healthy, and hopeful, adults. I received a letter from an oncology patient who has been my patient for three years. She told me that I am her hero, and because of her experience, she wants to be a pediatric oncologist, too. That letter stays above my desk to remind me of why I do what I do. I am also very interested in helping to train the next generation of excellent, caring physicians, so in addition to my main interests of hematology and oncology, my medical interests include medical education.
