Overview
Saugato Sanyal, M.D., M.B.A., FACC, is a board-certified cardiologist that brings more than 30 years of patient care experience to the AtlantiCare provider team. His areas of subspecialty include echocardiography, pacemaker and implantable cardiac devices (ICD) management, and transesophageal echocardiography, including three-dimensional echo.In addition, through his specialized training and experience in internal medicine and nephrology, Dr. Sanyal has expertise in caring for patients with advanced heart failure who also have kidney problems. After earning his Doctor of Medicine degree in India, Dr. Sanyal completed a residency in internal medicine at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. He then joined fellowship training in nephrology at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 2003, Dr. Sanyal earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. In 2003, he also joined the cardiology fellowship program at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York and completed this training in 2006. Philosophy of Care “My goal is to make sure patients understand the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of their disease, as well as the tests and medication needed to manage and treat their condition. I also want to ensure patients have clear goals, objectives and feedback instructions, so they can become active participants in their healthcare.” Professional Memberships Dr. Sanyal is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and is board certified in cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine. In addition, he is a diplomat of the National Board of Echocardiography and is board certified in nuclear cardiology.
